Job Description:

As a VaaS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining communication systems that integrate voice, video, and messaging services. You will also oversee optimizing the VaaS network infrastructure, ensuring a seamless user experience, and monitoring the overall system's performance. Additionally, you will collaborate with other IT professionals to continuously improve the company's communication infrastructure. A VaaS Engineer role requires proficiency in network troubleshooting, VoIP, and security protocols. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Design and implement unified communication and Voice as a Service systems that integrate messaging, voice, video, and collaboration tools for businesses or organizations.
- Configure, implement and troubleshoot unified communication infrastructure, including servers, gateways, routers, switches, and other related devices.
- Ensure unified communication systems meet performance, availability, and security requirements through monitoring, testing, and tuning.
- Work closely with other IT professionals, such as network engineers, application developers, and security analysts, to deliver integrated solutions and enhance end-user experience.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures, installation guides, user manuals, and training materials to support unified communication systems.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to unified communication and related domains, such as VoIP, SIP, H.323, WebRTC, SD-WAN, and Cloud.
- Assists in the development and deployment of VaaS solutions
- Responsible for creating technical documentation for infrastructure solutions
- Identify network system issues, troubleshoot, and provide solutions
- Provide preventative measures to ensure uptime and optimal performance of the environment
- Perform complex problem isolation within the Telecommunications Infrastructure and Networks
- Creates technical documentation for infrastructure solutions
- Leading the engineering design, development and test process for the chosen product set
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- BA/BS and 8+ years of experience or equivalent years of experience
- Contract Requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
- Experience in helping people communicate through managing, designing and implementing enterprise scale VoIP and Video over IP network environments with a focus on Microsoft, Avaya, and Polycom voice and video technologies
- 4+ years of related telecommunications experience
- 2+ years working knowledge of VOIP networks
- 2+ years of experience with voice and data cabling circuits/standards such as: analog, digital, POTS, PRI, BRI, CAT-3, CAT-5, CAT-6, and Fiber Optics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team to accomplish tasks and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q level security clearance
- The following certifications: CCNP Router/Switch, CCNA Voice, and CCNP Enterprise
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with data and voice networking
- Experience with various models of Cisco Voice over IP phones
- Experience supporting a U.S. Government customer
- USCIS, CCIE, certification
- Experience working in Agile development environments.

The likely salary range for this position is $116,450 - $157,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
