To thrive in this role you must have a comprehensive understanding of data acquisition concepts, data architecture, and healthcare experience. This position requires good time management skills and the ability to work independently. Having strong critical thinking capabilities will be key to being successful in this position.

Here’s what you will experience working as a Data Engineer II:

  • Develop and test architectures that enable data extraction and feature transformation for predictive modeling.
  • Assist application developers with pipelines to consume machine learning models.
  • Identify new opportunities for modeling or reporting improvements through data research.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and BI analytics engineers to deliver on projects.
  • Independently working with data platform teams to find the data sources needed for modeling.
  • Ensure data health and quality for optimal model performance through monitoring tools.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training/relevant experience) in fields that include strong coverage of computer science, IT, engineering, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience with building pipelines, delivering data for predictive modeling or analytics needs.
  • 1+ years' experience as a data engineer in the healthcare industry
  • Experience using SQL, Python, and Spark to write complex ETL jobs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present results to teams of people, including executive stakeholders.
  • Can work independently to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience working with healthcare claims data and an understanding of what data points mean to operational users.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $51,700.00 - $93,375.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
