Located at the corner of University and Mill, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU amplifies Tempe’s revitalized downtown area and brings some of the largest conference and meeting space to the city. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and almost 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space along with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape. Job Description:

We are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at Library Rules, the coffee shop at Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU. As a Barista, you will create memorable experiences for our guests by preparing high-quality coffee and beverages with exceptional customer service. Our ideal candidate is reliable, especially for early morning shifts, has a passion for coffee, and thrives in a guest-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, and other beverages in accordance with our recipes and standards.
  • Operate coffee brewing equipment and maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station.
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and answering any questions about the menu.
  • Manage cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment, including restocking supplies and ensuring sanitation standards.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Support the team in all areas of the coffee shop to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Previous barista or coffee-making experience preferred but not required.

  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude.

  • Dependable and punctual, especially for early morning shifts.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic math skills for cash handling.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work early morning shifts, as the coffee shop is open in the AM only.

 

*This position is a part-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
