We’re looking for an asset management inventory specialist to join our ranks. Our Asset Management Team — known for providing proactive and innovative solutions to a wide range of technical requests — provides its customers with a feeling of confidence in the team’s professionalism, reliability, and commitment to Commonwealth’s technology. 

 

As an Asset Management Inventory Specialist, you will act as a primary point of contact to help manage the company’s IT inventory and ensure all its technology needs are met.  Your natural ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment are essential—as is a positive attitude, strong interpersonal, problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supporting the Hardware Team by providing appropriate equipment for internal users
  • Tracking assets across all stages of their life cycle, following strict ITAM-standards, to ensure all records are properly updated in ServiceNow and Active Directory
  • Ensuring accurate records and inventory of devices both deployed and in stock within our Stockrooms
  • Providing prompt and attentive support to real-time chats and emails from team members, both within the Hardware Team and between other teams.
  • Resolving issues escalated by technology management and executive management.
  • Executing timely resolutions of tickets via our ticketing system, ServiceNow.
  • Responsible for assisting with disposal inventory levels across both coasts through ongoing inventory audits.
  • Be the main point-of-contact for scheduling, preparing, and facilitating disposal events with approved outside vendors to ensure a minimal risk position to the firm for the Waltham office
  • Assisting with creating and maintaining critical business records relating to the disposition of company owned assets.
  • Sourcing unique solutions to problems
  • Supporting technical input from an asset management perspective to other engineering and/or product teams for project development
  • Aiding in the management of a yearly equipment budget
  • Imaging computers for deployment via SCCM, PXE boot and/or Windows Autopilot

Core Strengths and Skills  

  • 2+ years of deskside support in an office environment
  • Self-motivated, with proactive troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong business math skill supporting negotiating with hardware vendors and asset management
  • Ability to troubleshoot videoconferencing equipment (Zoom and Microsoft Teams)
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting Microsoft Office and Windows 10
  • Experience with asset and inventory management, including asset tagging and lifecycle/disposal
  • Experience building and configuring PCs (SCCM experience preferred)
  • Experience installing and configuring new hardware, such as monitors, docking stations, laptops, printers, and Avaya phones
