We’re looking for a senior devOps engineer to join our ranks. Are you an experienced, hands-on DevOps Engineer who wants to lead technical development efforts? This opportunity on our Application Solutions team will put you in charge of driving the continuous integration and deployment of Commonwealth’s application portfolio.
In collaboration with other team members, as well as IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams, you will ensure the successful and timely deployment of products. You will also develop the overall strategy, processes, and procedures to automate the release pipeline to package together all elements of a solution, including compiled application software, configuration data, application data, and documentation. This is a new position on a new team, giving you the opportunity to influence direction and build a modern DevOps pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, manage, and maintain CI/CD Pipelines for Azure, AWS and OnPrem deployments
- Design and Develop CI/CD pipelines for Azure Data Factory, MuleSoft, Salesforce
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with Terraform deployments
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages Python & PowerShell
- Utilize Azure Monitor and Application Insights for system monitoring and performance insights, developing comprehensive dashboards for various audiences
- Deploy and manage resources on Azure Cloud, including but not limited to Azure Function Apps and Azure App Services
- Create and maintain high-quality, up-to-date technical documentation on the company wiki detailing DevOps procedures, system configurations, and pipeline architecture
- Collaborate closely with the software development team to drive improvements in process efficiency and system stability
- Mentor junior members of the team, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning
Core Strengths and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in a DevOps role
- Programming / Developer background is required (.NET/JAVA)
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Expertise in developing and managing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and integrating them with Terraform
- Proficiency in scripting with Python & PowerShell
- Extensive knowledge of the Azure Cloud platform, including Azure Function Apps, Azure App Services, etc.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and creating monitoring dashboards
- Excellent technical documentation skills
- Relevant Azure or DevOps certifications
Additional Skills and Knowledge
- .NET /Java , SQL, PowerShell/Python
- Knowledge of CI/CD using Azure DevOps
- Azure / AWS Platform Knowledge
- Familiarity with working with a source control system (TFS, GIT, etc.)
