Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our client’s motivated team. This critical role will oversee tax compliance and planning, working closely with senior management and a talented team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of tax laws and the ability to develop strategies that minimize tax liabilities for clients while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Tax Compliance & Reporting:

  • Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring full compliance with all tax regulations.
  • Review and interpret financial data to create accurate tax reports, including tax returns and supporting documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes to tax legislation and integrate these changes into compliance efforts.

Tax Planning & Strategy:

  • Develop and implement innovative tax strategies to minimize liabilities while maintaining compliance.
  • Advise senior management and clients on tax implications related to business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
  • Conduct research and provide guidance on complex tax issues.

Audit & Risk Management:

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax authorities during audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided and compliance standards are met.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks by maintaining an in-depth understanding of evolving tax laws.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure ongoing development.
  • Review the work of junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax standards and regulations.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes continuous learning and professional growth.

Technology Integration & Innovation:

  • Utilize cutting-edge tax software and financial tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Implement technology-driven solutions to enhance reporting, compliance, and tax planning capabilities.

Policy Development:

  • Develop and refine tax policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of tax team management experience, with expertise in federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Strong proficiency in tax software and financial systems such as QuickBooks Online, Intuit Pro Connect Tax Software, Tax Dome
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing tax professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex tax matters to clients and senior management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment.
