Google Data Engineer

This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery and DataProc to support data processing, transformation, and integration from various data sources.
  
• Manage GCP Storage solutions for data storage, ensuring security, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  
• Design and implement data models, queries, and reports in Qlik and Cognos to support business intelligence and reporting requirements.
  
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions.
  
• Optimize and troubleshoot data processing workflows to enhance performance and reliability of data pipelines.
  
• Ensure data quality and integrity across platforms and maintain compliance with data governance standards.
  
• Continuously evaluate and improve data architecture, identifying opportunities to leverage new tools and methodologies for data analytics.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence, with strong experience in GCP services, specifically BigQuery, DataProc, and GCP Storage.
  
• Advanced skills in Qlik and Cognos for data visualization, dashboard creation, and reporting.
  
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and integration within the GCP environment.
  
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with other GCP tools such as Cloud Composer or Dataflow.
  
• Familiarity with Python or Java for data processing in DataProc.
  
• Knowledge of data governance practices and data security principles.
  
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
