We are currently recruiting for a Vice President, Business Manager CRO within our CRO Domain in Amsterdam.

The role includes the following: 

You will support the CRO of MBE to run the CRO function. You will operate as a spider in the web in the Risk team, building strong relationships with the team leads, and with colleagues from other departments and from other MUFG entities. You support in setting strategy for the team in close liaison with other entities and monitoring progress. You support the team runs smoothly with respect to budget and HR topics. And you support the CRO in organising activities to foster an engaged and connected team.

The role requires a person with excellent communication skills, well able to organize and structure workload,  remain calm and composed under time pressure, and have a strong eye for detail as the standards of quality are high. MBE is part of a bank acting on a global basis, hence regular interaction with functional leaders within MBE and broader MUFG Group (EMEA Head-Office in London and Global Head Office in Tokyo) is an essential part of this role, requiring good stakeholder management skills.

Function Positioning:

The function forms part of the CRO domain, which is responsible for Credit Risk, Risk Management and Compliance for MBE. The Vice President has a direct reporting line to the Chief Risk Officer MBE.

The role includes the following:

  • Specifically, you will be accountable and responsible for taking appropriate action with respect to the Company’s and MBE Risk, including: 
  • Responsible for supporting the CRO in executing and documenting her responsibilities. 
  • Responsible for supporting the MBE CRO in establishing and developing the strategy for the MBE Risk function. 
  • Responsible for supporting the CRO in developing robust Risk business plans to ensure the Risk function is able to meet and respond to new business plans, changing regulatory requirements and volume shifts. 
  • Responsible for working with the CRO, her management team and Corporate Communications to create and execute an MBE Risk-wide communications strategy. 
  • Responsible to supporting the CRO in driving staff engagement and connectivity initiatives. 
  • Responsible for supporting the CRO in performing oversight of how the business is run, including financial control, resource planning, governance and management information.  
  • Responsible for supporting and challenging the budgeting and personnel management for the department.  
  • Responsible for tracking and monitoring progress against plans and budgets. 
  • Responsible for providing strategic input and advice to the senior members of the department 
  • Responsible for supporting the CRO in managing her workload ensuring timely responses to initiatives and the delegation of tasks. 
  • Responsible for provide Management Information to senior members of the Risk department, and to other parts of the group.   
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality and pro-active support to MUFG’s business activities, assisting the firm to do business in the right way and to deliver its business strategy.   
  • Responsible for supporting the CRO in ensuring key processes are run efficiently to deliver quality and reliable information, to support the firm’s business growth and control procedures.   
  • Responsible for supporting the CRO and the management team in coordinating answering regulatory questions and performing other regulatory exercises for the Risk team.   
  • Responsible for supporting the CRO and the management team in ensuring timely delivery of quality responses to actions from governance committees.
