Macquarie University is seeking atalented and experienced Analogue / Mixed Signal Engineer to oversee and lead the delivery of semiconductor and technology projects. This is an fabulous opportunity to join the newly established Silicon Platforms Lab (SiPLab) within the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University.
This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of SiP Lab team. You will lead advanced mixed-signal designs in deep sub-micron CMOS processes. You will oversee and lead the delivery of semiconductor and technology projects.

What you’ll do
Lead and drive the SiP Lab project team ensuring that project deliverable milestones are met within timeframes and budget.
Lead the progression of engineering designs from concept to production including design, manufacturing, testing, pre-production validation and datasheet preparation.
Innovate as a technology leader, pushing the state-of-the-art in the context of engineering in industry.
Liaise with major manufacturers around the world and with our Industry partner Atto Devices’ to resolve barriers and progress the designs.
Develop and review concepts, system and subsystem level designs for semiconductor projects within the workgroup area of expertise.
Write and review documentation for project reviews.
Develop, review, and analyse system requirements, the flow-down of these requirements from system to sub-system levels, and the systems modelling, and analysis required for requirements verification.
Manage and administer the project budget.

The SiP Lab is an advanced silicon chip design lab with advanced silicon system-on-chip (SoC) / system-in-package (SiP) capabilities. The research focuses on key semiconductor industry trends in communications and sensing, as well as partnering with adjacent research teams across the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the wider University to integrate their own novel IP onto a silicon platform, with benefits anticipated in the fields of synthetic biology, photonics, and quantum technologies.

Experienced leading the development of Gsps ADC/DAC blocks.
Experience with PLL and SERDES desirable.
Experience with Cadence design environment.
Experience with the evaluation of silicon on bench.
