Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automation solutions: Design and develop automated workflows, scripts, and tools to enable efficient and scalable deployment of GCP resources and services.

Infrastructure-as-code: Develop infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager to provision and manage GCP resources consistently and efficiently.

• Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for GCP applications. Create and maintain deployment pipelines, automated tests, and release management processes to ensure seamless, reliable, and efficient application deployments.

• Infrastructure optimization and performance: Analyze and optimize the performance of GCP infrastructure components to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance infrastructure performance.

• Security and compliance: Work closely with the security team to implement best practices and ensure GCP resources and services are secured against potential threats. Establish and enforce security standards, access controls, and compliance requirements within the infrastructure.

• Troubleshooting and issue resolution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to GCP infrastructure. Conduct root cause analysis and implement necessary fixes or preventive measures to avoid similar issues in the future.

• Documentation and knowledge sharing: Document deployment processes, system configurations, and automation workflows. Share knowledge with the team, contribute to internal technical documentation, and provide training and guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Relevant certifications in Google Cloud Platform is a plus.

• Proven experience (6 years) in designing and managing infrastructure on GCP, with hands-on experience in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, GCP Deployment Manager, or similar technologies.

• Strong programming and scripting skills, preferably in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Deep understanding of GCP services, including but not limited to Compute Engine, Container Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions.

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) technologies such as GitHub Actions, Terraform Cloud, Octopus, or similar tools.

• Knowledge of networking principles, including VPN, VPC, firewalls, and load balancers within GCP.

• Familiarity with security best practices, compliance frameworks, and data protection regulations.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a strong attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a passion for keeping up to date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and automation.
