Summary of Job Duties:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist at Arkansas Health Center (AHC) in Benton, AR, provides essential respiratory care, including updrafts, MDIs, CPT, ABGs, spirometry, IPV, patient education, and mechanical ventilator management. The Therapist will also assist in emergencies and perform specialized respiratory procedures as required. AHC is a 310-bed skilled nursing psychiatric facility serving elderly and disabled individuals with complex needs, including cognitive impairments. This role is critical to supporting AHC’s mission to provide specialized respiratory services and care for its residents.
Qualifications:
High School diploma/GED plus two (2) years of direct respiratory care experience or Associate's degree in respiratory care required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities;
Applicant must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Applicant must hold a current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP).
Knowledge of Respiratory care procedures and treatments
Ability to Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Applicable medical equipment and supplies, medical terminology, treatments
Organization and time management
Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Responsibilities:
Performs routine respiratory care procedures, including updrafts, metered dose inhalers (MDI), chest physiotherapy (CPT), arterial blood gases (ABG), incentive spirometry, and intrapulmonary percussive ventilation (IPV).
Assists with bedside bronchoscopies, tracheotomies, and trach management, including emergency and rapid responses.
Educates patients regarding use, care, and cleaning of personal respiratory devices.
Moves equipment and medical supplies into assigned work areas and transports diagnostic equipment as needed. Provides mechanical ventilator setup and management.
Enters patient treatment notes in e-chart system and documents patient charts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
