About the Job

As Head of AI Engineering, you'll shape and drive the technological vision and strategy for our early-stage startup, aligning our tech initiatives with core business goals. You will define our technology roadmap, lead and inspire our engineering team, and oversee the development of groundbreaking solutions. 

This role provides the chance to leverage your leadership expertise in building a scalable, forward-thinking platform, reporting directly to our CEO and collaborating closely with the founding team.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop and execute the technology strategy and roadmap to align with business goals.
  • Partner alongside the existing engineering resources to be a hands-on leader and build the product from zero to launch.
  • Lead and manage the engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality technology solutions.
  • Oversee the architecture and design of our technology stack, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with product management to define technical requirements and ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Working one-on-one with customers to create a tight feedback loop between the initial product feedback and roadmap.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
What you’ll need:
  • Proven experience as a Head of Engineering or in a senior technology leadership role at an early-stage startup.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development, system architecture, platform scaling, cloud, and AI technologies.
  • Hands-on development experience with the latest technologies
  • Hands-on experience building data products, including ETL processes, and building, training, fine-tuning, and testing LLM and SLM models. Skilled in recommending models or frameworks to meet business needs.
  • Experience having shipped genAI products in a 0-1 environment.
  • Experience with data engineering strategy.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • PhD or MS degree in AI or computer science.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus!

Additional Information

Full-time base salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 plus equity.
