ABOUT THIS POSITION

Location: HYBRID (2-3 days in office) in Houston, TX or Arlington, VA

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lean Expert and Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of lean principles and a proven track record of implementing lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement. This role is critical in supporting our organization’s journey towards operational excellence by coaching teams, leading lean initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 Key Responsibilities:
•             Serve as a lean expert, guiding and mentoring teams in the application of lean principles, tools, and methodologies to achieve business objectives.
•             Lead the development and execution of lean initiatives across the organization, including value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and other continuous improvement activities.
•             Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify areas of waste, inefficiency, and opportunities for improvement.
•             Coach and train employees at all levels on lean concepts, helping them to integrate these practices into their daily work.
•             Develop and implement strategies to sustain lean practices and ensure ongoing improvement across the organization.
•             Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build lean capability within the workforce.
•             Measure and report on the progress of lean initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
•             Promote a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement, encouraging employees to take ownership of processes and drive change.

What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in implementing lean methodologies, preferably within manufacturing, energy, or a related industry.
  • Proven experience in coaching and mentoring teams to adopt lean practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, standard work, visual management, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive results in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
