Job Title: Sales Manager – Field Sales
Location: Remote, Candidates must live in MD, DC, or DE
What you’ll do:
The Sales Manager is accountable for achieving sales and profit objectives for the Field Sales Territory through hiring, training, developing and directing sales employees within the assigned territory. The Sales Manager leads a smaller team than the Area Sales Director, with a lower revenue target and less territory/account complexity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop pipeline through team efforts for accuracy leading to strong projections and closing sales.
- Develops a strategic/marketing plan for assigned territory based on upcoming market opportunity information for the school year, needs of the customer and past years regional performance to meet assigned quota. Adjust plans as needed. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the region to stay abreast of districts’ needs and purchasing cycles.
- Responsible for meeting assigned district or regional target. Coaches Account Executives and Account Managers to create effective sales strategies/action plans.
- Manages the activities of the sales team. Conducts objective setting, midpoint and annual appraisal for Account Executives and Account Managers, Observes staff in field by attending sales calls and presentations. Responsible for attracting, developing, coaching, motivating, empowering and retaining sales professionals. Conducts regular staff meetings, pipeline review meetings and 1:1 sessions.
- Manages and stay within assigned budgets. Approves expense reports for direct reports.
- Promotes a positive relationship and collaboration between staff, sales, and internal teams. Frequently communicates and collaborates with Sales and Consultant Management and shares information learned with team.
- Achieve territory team goal by collaborating with other managers and teams including, but not limited to, Customer Success, Curriculum Support Group, Services, Marketing and Product teams.
Requirements:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s desirable)
- 5+ years sales experience with a proven track record in meeting quota. Educational sales experience and teaching skills are desirable.
- Proficient in MS Office and Salesforce or other CRM software
- The ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Requires heavy travel – driving and air travel. 60-70%
- Acceptable driving record required
Benefits and Salary Range
Salary Range: $100K - $110K + uncapped commissions
