The Paraprofessional is a key support role for our Healthcare Consulting practice.  The ideal candidate is an independent thinker, has exceptional detail-orientation and has experience in professional services or other deadline-driven organizations. The selected team member will thrive in a fast-paced environment and apply their client service acumen.  This is a remote role in the Metro Detroit Area or can be based in one of our office locations!

Firm Operations - Administrative Support Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of high-level administrative duties with the ability to multi-task as required
  • Organize own work, coordinating projects, setting priorities, meeting deadlines and following up on assignments with a minimal direction
  • Schedule, organize, maintain and monitor Outlook calendars
  • Prepares general correspondence, reports, work papers, documentation, spreadsheets, and all client-related documents
  • Prepares client deliverable reports, following compliance procedures with strict adherence to proofreading for spelling, grammar and layout accuracy
  • Maintains electronic client files and supporting documents
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel with ability to import, export and manipulate data
  • Works as client liaison in obtaining and sending information, documents, correspondence in a timely manner
  • Prepares monthly invoices (including monitoring hold invoices, budget reports, and tracking summary)
  • Schedules conference calls
  • Accurately updates, prepares and follows written procedures
  • Back-up for assigned duties of other Firm Operations and Administrative teams across the firm
  • Supports Partners, Manager and consulting staff with marketing initiatives
  • Maintains eBlast schedule for healthcare consulting practice

Consulting Services - Provider Reimbursement Responsibilities

  • Maintain tracking status of engagements using existing database and excel sheets
  • Records and files all pertinent incoming and outgoing client correspondence
  • Review reports on an as needed basis and distribute to clients and team members, as appropriate
  • Supports Partners, Managers and Consulting staff on upcoming client deadlines
  • Manages tracking lists to ensure client deliverables are filed timely
  • Supports Partners, Managers and Consulting staff with with appeals, reopens, exception requests, bad debts, spreadsheets, correspondence and other projects as needed
  • Supports Partners, Managers and Consulting staff in filing final cost reports including but not limited to work paper supporting documentation, completion of cost report schedules and applicable provider plan ie…MAC, State or Blue Cross
  • Manages process for cost reporting and maintains Appeals/Reopens binder and current status of cases
  • Maintains databases related to DSH engagements
  • Organizes and maintains computer network files
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

    Qualifications

    • 2-4 years of directly related experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related, preferred
    • Strong analytical capability, independent thinker and strong decision-making skills
    • Proven team player able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent project management, organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Self-starting professional with the ability to prioritize workload
    • Experience in working with senior executives and business partners
    • Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills
    • Exceptional computer and technology knowledge, skills and experience in Microsoft Office Suites with emphasis on Excel and Access)
    • Exemplary client satisfaction skills

    Working Conditions

    • The typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • Ability to work in excess of normal work hours, when necessary, (approximately 50-55 hours a week during peak times)
    • Travel for this position will be limited 
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30-50 pounds
    • Ability to speak English to communicate with clients, team members, etc.
