We are seeking experienced Independent Contractors for Legal and Judicial transcription roles, specializing in depositions and hearings. This fully remote opportunity offers considerable flexibility for your work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Process audio recordings while adhering to established style guides.
  • Maintain a stringent level of attention to detail and accuracy in all transcription tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively with our in-office team to ensure quality and consistency in work output.
  • Consistently meet deadlines to guarantee timely delivery of transcripts.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription is essential.
  • Exceptional listening skills and the ability to accurately discern and transcribe audio content.
  • Strong adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
  • Excellent literacy skills, including proficiency in comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
  • Adeptness in typing with both speed and precision.
  • Capability to deal with sensitive audio/text content (note that content may be offensive).
  • Familiarity with legal terminology is highly beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in legal transcription or related fields is required.
  • Background in court reporting or legal-related studies is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to pass a background check is essential.
  • Court reporting students will also be considered.
  • This position is not available to residents of Massachusetts or California.
