Symetra has an exciting opportunity for a Northeastern US -based annuity wholesaler to join our Independent Channel Retirement Sales team as a
Regional Vice President!
About The Role
As a Regional Vice President, you will promote the sale of Symetra's fixed annuities, fixed indexed annuities, and registered indexed linked annuities to approved professionals in the Independent channel. The candidate must reside within the territory which covers CT, MA, RI, NH, VT and ME.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with divisional manager to develop appropriate business plan to maximize regions sales and meet business objectives.
- Identify and develop new financial professionals while strengthening relationships with existing financial professionals within the territory.
- Work with bank financial consultants, Independent Planners, wire houses, and broker/dealers to increase the sale of fixed, fixed index, index-linked annuities, and income annuities.
- Build and maintain producer relationships to keep them informed of market and product changes and enhancements.
- Increase sales through field activity, in person contact and virtual meetings.
- Provide sales ideas and client solutions. Work in conjunction with Internal Wholesalers to identify producer needs, develop an extensive and productive travel schedule, and a build a results-focused strategy for implementation. Conduct product and sales training through individual and group training sessions, seminars, workshops and meetings.
- Strategically plan and manage deployment of resources for the territory through marketing and sales initiatives, and budgeting & expense responsibilities.
- Work in conjunction with Internal Wholesaler to identify and foster leads generated from referrals.
- Maintain a high level of professional conduct ensuring that all FINRA, SEC, Department of Insurance and Symetra compliance and firm policies are adhered to.

Compensation
Base salary: $60,000 plus eligibility for incentive compensation
Who You Are
- College Graduate; Degree in related field or equivalent experience required
- 5 years prior wholesaling experience in the Independent Broker Dealer channel
- FINRA 6 or 7, 63 and Life and Health license.
- Proven sales competence and presentation skills
- Proven ability in growing a region as measured by sales results
- Excellent knowledge of the advisor community and industry
- Ability to adapt to constant changing environment
- Ability to build productive relationships; provide training, sales ideas, and mentoring
- Strong territory management experience related to zone rotation, opportunity assessment and strategic planning to maximize opportunities
- History of producer contacts in the territory
- Demonstrated success within sales with the ability to establish sales objectives and meet goals
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Will be expected to have or develop a strong understanding of key retirement products
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet specific marketing objectives and achieve specific production objectives
- Requires extensive travel within the territory
