Digital Product Designer
Starbucks is looking for a Product Designer to join our UX design team in the marketing space, an important part of our company effort for reinventing internal tools and customer facing experiences. You will be responsible for inventing, executing, and refining digital products across our marketing platforms including digital menu boards in-store and in drive-thru.
As a Product Designer on the Marketer Portfolio team, you will supporting the complex workflows of our creative operations partners. The ability to create and launch digital campaigns within our stores is instrumental to the business objectives and customer experiences of Starbucks, and the digital tools we use to do this require complex problem solving, understanding of user needs, and expertise in best UX/UI practices.
In this role, you love solving problems with your team in a highly collaborative environment. Your ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams in Design and Research, Engineering, Marketing and Product Management teams is crucial. You’re a fierce advocate for the Starbucks customers and partners. You have a passion for making design accessible for all, and understand how to engage with UX research to answer big questions. You have visual design chops, understand product process and delivery, and recognize how to bring UX to the work in a productive and engaging way.

What You’ll Do
- Work collaboratively on a product team focused on major customer and internal user facing features and be able to communicate rationale, background for your decisions.
- Work alongside product management to define features and how they map back to customer and business needs.
- Design interactions for new features, applying existing design patterns across our platforms.
- Work with other product designers to receive and provide feedback and critique.
- Work with data scientists and user researchers to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of your work.
- Work with accessibility technologists to ensure the product is accessible for all, no matter on what platform.
- Work quickly and effectively on multiple projects. Ship brand new features, bug fixes on existing features, and small improvements responding to customer need.
- Build and prototype what you design using Figma and other tools.
- Collaborate and innovate, with a great sense of humor.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years in professional design experience, preferably in building and shipping products. More important than the number of years of professional experience you have, we’re looking at the work you do and how you’ve done it.
- Ability to communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and design details both verbally and visually.
- Experience working in a product organization, driving design from planning to release over multiple releases.
- Experience with UX workflows, interaction design, user research/assessment, prototyping, visual design, and user adoption.
- Experience working closely with developers to iterate to a point of functionality then to a point of pixel perfection.
- Demonstrated visual design skill, especially in the construction of visual hierarchies on layouts, and attention to detail on typography, spacing, and colors.
- Experience with Figma and its plugins. Prototyping tools such as Principle or Framer is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing internal or enterprise level tools
- Large format digital display design experience
- Experience with agile/persistent teams

- If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
