Job Description
Summary: The Principal Trade Relations Rebate Economics develops rebate strategies to optimize the quality, timeliness, and performance of rebate management and performance for MedImpact PBM. The position will be responsible for providing data analysis, controls, project management, and reporting for all services and operations impacting Trade Relations inclusive of rebate forecasting and client guarantee forecasting. This is a cross-functional leadership role responsible for working across business units to continuously improve services related to Trade Relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Manages and directs the reporting of rebate performance (forecast vs payable) across all lines of business for MedImpact PBM to executive leadership.
· Develops and maintains a trade operations dashboard that covers financial, operational, and quality metrics for Trade Relations.
· Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of metrics / KPIs associated with rebate vendor quality, timeliness, and performance related to strategic services and financial accuracy.
· Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing and optimizing rebate performance.
· Analyzes very large data sets to proactively identify areas of opportunity including identifying clients that are not optimizing their rebate performance. Develops and implements strategies to address these opportunities and tracks results.
· Leads all project management initiatives across Trade Relations that focus on continuous improvement, SOC/SOX controls, and value realization initiatives.
· Identifies rebate-related new product development opportunities and manages the development process.
· Conducts and analyzes competitive and market information to identify opportunities in MedImpact’s rebate offering and the marketing of the rebate program.
· Ensures department metrics are tracked and monitored including employee level performance metrics.
· Represents the Trade Relations group to senior management as well as department heads demonstrating logical rationale for business decisions.

Manages assigned staff in the segment area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.
Client Responsibilities
This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients; Manage difficult or emotional client situations.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) and 15+ years’ related experience. Master’s degree preferred. Experience required in PBM, healthcare, and/or finance related industry. Experience should include extensive work with financial and data analytics.
4 years of management experience required. Management experience can be substituted with an appropriate mix of leadership experience plus 5 years of MedImpact experience, an external leadership training program and mentorship with a seasoned leader (Vice President or above) that must be completed within 12 months in the position.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of SQL Database software and Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, and Access.
Other Skills and Abilities
Possess proven leadership skills, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), analytical and financial reasoning skills. Requires experience in operational application of database applications, accounting, finance, or data analysis. Demonstrated attention to detail and experience in project management and leading quality improvement initiatives. Requires the ability to represent MedImpact at the enterprise level with proper business decisions.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply these skills to practical situations.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as legal agreements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Working Hours
This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job
responsibilities and reasonably meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Travel - This position requires occasional domestic travel of up to 10 - 15% of the time.
