We have an exciting opportunity for an intern to join our Development Team in Salt Lake City, UT. As an intern supporting our Go Red for Women event, you will play a key role in driving the success of this impactful campaign. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks that contribute to the planning, execution, and follow-up of these life-saving initiatives.
The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.

Internship Overview:
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
Internship Duration: 1/21/25 – 5/2/25
Location: Hybrid Position - Intern must be based in Salt Lake City, UT, or the immediate surrounding area. Tuesday and Thursday in-office availability preferred.
Salary: $23.00 per hour

- Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Support: Assist with the planning, coordinating, and executing pre-event logistics, on-site event management, and post-event wrap-up for Go Red for Women event.
- Event Participant Outreach & Engagement: Conduct pre-event outreach to attendees of social events to support participation.
- Sponsor Support: Assist with sponsor presentation preparation and gathering materials for sponsor follow-up after meetings, helping to maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Data & Reporting: Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event-related information to track progress and outcomes.
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing event supplies.
- Work with Event Coordinators/Directors to execute Run of Show for core events
- Develop collateral for events including social media graphics, programs, event signage, and more
- Help with volunteer recruitment and management
Qualifications:
- Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit fundraising, or event management
- Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
- 20hrs/week availability, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm. Tuesday and Thursday in-office availability preferred.
- Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work professionally in corporate and non-profit environments.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong leadership experience.
- Basic knowledge of Canva.
- Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection & Reliable Transportation.
- Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
