Job description

Fictiv Exists to Enable Hardware Innovators to Build Better Products, Faster

Fictiv, coined the “AWS of manufacturing,” is a leading technology company transforming the $350 billion manufacturing industry. Our cutting-edge cloud platform uses AI and machine learning algorithms to help companies build hardware at the speed of software. Come join our growing team!

Impact in this Role

At Fictiv, we’re building a company that is developing the operating system for sourcing custom mechanical parts. We already enjoy manufacturing and delivering highly complex, high-quality parts for our Fortune 500 customers who are building the future with products like autonomous electric vehicles, surgical systems, and industrial robots. As we expand the scope of services to our customer base in alignment with their needs, we are looking for an experienced and adept leader with exceptional skill and experience in developing world-class custom mechanical manufacturing & supply chain operations.

In your role as Strategic Sourcing Director (US), you’ll be accountable for ensuring that Fictiv’s US-based manufacturing ecosystem supports the needs of Fictiv’s customers. You’ll be especially focused on establishing the capabilities and capacity for Fictiv USA to support its customers across the full product development lifecycle, including production.

You’ll report to Fictiv’s General Manager of the USA in this role.

Areas of Responsibility

Strategy Formulation: You’ll develop the roadmap and priorities for Fictiv USA to support Fictiv customers’ domestic custom mechanical & higher-level assembly production demands. This will include collaborating with Fictiv’s General Manager of USA to regularly evaluate where Fictiv should contract with vs own capacity to meet Fictiv’s customer’s demands.

Sourcing & Supplier Development: You’ll use your network of contacts and business development skills to source and develop manufacturing capacity (contracted & owned) in alignment with the needs of the business.

Manufacturing Partner Relationship Management: You’ll manage relationships with Manufacturing Partners that are key to the success of Fictiv’s customers as they advance from prototyping and look toward production.

Cross-Functional Strategic Projects to Expand Fictiv USA Catalog: You’ll lead key cross-functional projects that enable the expansion of Fictiv USA’s catalog of services. E.g. you’ll collaborate with key internal stakeholders at Fictiv to implement the necessary systems and strategic agreements with a small subset of Fictiv’s manufacturing partners to expand upon Fictiv’s capacity to support US-based production, especially for medical device manufacturing and export-controlled applications.
