Job Overview:

You will own our Product strategy and shape the future of Coursera's Payments platform, where the mission is to build and scale a checkout & payment experience for enterprise customers and closely partner with the team driving enterprise acquisition & monetisation. This role will be a mix of at-scale product innovation as well as new initiatives in the zero-to-one phase. The primary customer persona for which you would be building products are Early and Mid-Market businesses and hence prior background in building payment solutions at scale would be a big advantage. 

Payment team’s mission is to build scalable, robust and flexible platforms enabling B2B customers all across the world to pay using local payment methods. This team is responsible for the end to end purchase flow for our enterprise customers looking to buy coursera services via an online payment method. Payments team manages the entire lifecycle of their payment plan on platform including but not limited to the enterprise checkout experience, payment processing and integrations, and reporting + reconciliation. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to Coursera’s top line growth and help bring high quality affordable education to millions of learners across the globe

You will collaborate with cross-functional product, design, engineering and services teams to ensure the end-to-end implementation journey is thorough and thoughtful. You will write robust requirements, prioritize the backlog, and lead teams comprising of architects, engineers, design, and business stakeholders to deliver platform based product solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Product Strategy: Define both long-term strategy and quarterly roadmap to achieve the product vision and create impact.
  • Business Strategy: Define long term vision and business strategy to achieve the northstar. Identify new product lines and innovation opportunities. 
  • Data-Driven: Own, track and improve key product metrics. Provide recommendations based on in-depth data analysis and clearly outline its impact on key product metrics.
  • Conceptualize New Solutions: Product conceptualization with a problem first, data-driven and test & iterate approach. Ensures conceptualization from a platform and a long-term view. Ensures value-based prioritization of product initiatives. 
  • Launch Products: Draft and execute a go-to-market plan in conjunction with cross-functional stakeholders. Be the internal and external authority and advocate for your given area of focus. 
You will be a good fit for this role if: 
  • You have at least 6 years of experience in Product Management. 
  • You have experience in building and launching successful products.
  • You have experience defining and managing APIs and an understanding system and data architecture.
  • You think backwards from a customer’s perspective.
  • You are curious about metrics, execution processes, macro trends
  • Problem-solving and detail orientation come naturally to you.
  • You understand technology but love customer-first & business-first thinking.
  • You are comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • You have prior experience working with cross-functional teams (research, compliance, business, marketing) to drive product adoption. 
  • You have an analytical and data-driven approach to day-to-day work.
  • Strong commitment to Coursera's mission of transforming lives through learning.
Added advantage if: 
  • You have expertise in managing checkout & payments, including experience with payment gateways, APIs, and SDKs (e.g. Stripe, Braintree, Razorpay)
  • You understand payment industry standards and regulations (e.g. PCI DSS, PSD2, 3DS 2.0)
  • You are familiar  with Google Pay (GPay) and In App Purchases (IAPs)
