Job description

About the team
We’re looking for accomplished product managers passionate about helping people find their next home. Come join us!

The Team: You’ll work on a team responsible for helping customers take a big leap from dreaming to buying. We connect homebuyers to real estate agents to tour properties they see and like on Zillow. From there, they work together to win the perfect home.

We aim to make the start of the home purchase process as seamless as possible. We’re a high-performing, fast-paced team that prides itself on continuous innovation of its products, especially during this time of big change in the industry.

The Department: Zillow, the top real estate website in the U.S., is building an on-demand real estate experience. Whether selling, buying, renting or financing, customers can turn to Zillow to find and get into their next home with speed, certainty and ease.

About the role

We’re looking for someone who loves working on hairy problems and knows how to make things happen within a company as big as Zillow.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and clearly articulate the customer problems to solve, balancing agent and customer feedback with business needs

  • Define goals and success metrics for your product area and prioritize what to build in pursuit of them

  • Inform Zillow’s strategy by understanding customer needs, analyzing competitors, and staying informed of the broader industry and technology landscape

  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to rapidly test, measure, and iterate on your team’s work

  • Provide clear direction to your team, handle dependencies, remove roadblocks, and apply effective operating rhythms

  • Coordinate across teams to align product work with high-level strategy

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $145,500.00 - $232,500.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are
  • 5+ years managing products from concept to launch or equivalent experience

  • Strong analytical abilities. You pair data with intuition to determine product strategy, roadmaps, and development tradeoffs.

  • Proficient in modern product discovery techniques

  • Demonstrated technical skill and comfort evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of product approaches and proposals

  • Effective leadership skills for influencing and inspiring internal and external partners

  • Keen strategic vision, the leadership to deliver it, and the strong ability to influence without direct authority

  • Expert verbal and written communication skills, letting you simplify complex topics and comfortably present to all levels of the organization

  • A proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a collaborative and constructive manner

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies

  • Leverages expertise and shares best practices to grow and develop PMs within their team
