Job description

Role Overview:

ABS Global, a Genus company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Sexcel & IntelliGen Product Line Manager to oversee the development, marketing, and performance of products specifically designed for the beef on dairy segment. This position can be remote with travel estimated at 20%. The Sexcel & IntelliGen Product Line Manager has primary accountability for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from concept to market launch, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the product line's success. The successful candidate will have specialized expertise in product management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive sales and profitability.

 

We are looking for visionary leaders with strong financial acumen and strategic thinking abilities, capable of deeply understanding our unique market dynamics and customer trends to help shape and execute product strategies that drive a profitable future for ABS. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to create and implement short- and long-term product strategies and plans that deliver measurable financial results across various our different customer segments globally. 

 

In these newly established roles, the Product Line Management (PLM) team will collaborate closely with marketing, commercial and strategic accounts, and product development (PDV) teams to anticipate market shifts and customer needs and adapt our business and product portfolio as needed. The team will also play a key role in long-term product planning and forecasting demand, guiding future company investments while clearly communicating strategies and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.

 

This is a newly created function within our organization, designed to significantly enhance our competitive position in the market. By fostering a deep understanding of market trends, leveraging data-driven decision making, and applying forward-thinking strategy development, the Product Line Management team will play a pivotal role in driving our future growth. We believe that this team’s ability to anticipate market needs and respond with innovative solutions will be a key factor in positioning ABS as a leader in the industry for years to come.

You Will:
  • Provide a global perspective to drive the highest long-term profit value from our Sexcel & Sexing products and capabilities through in-depth industry knowledge, analytical capabilities, and an understanding of ABS customers' needs.
  • Work closely with Research & Development to ensure clear direction on the innovation needs of the commercial business.
  • Collaborate with the Director of IntelliGen technologies and key account services manager on pipeline development to maximize market penetration globally.
  • Engage with commercial leads to ensure ongoing product alignment with market strategies.
  • Partner with Dairy & Beef Product Line Managers to develop aggressive growth strategies and implementation plans for market penetration of Sexcel, focusing on optimal product mix and increased operating profit.
  • Ensure ongoing market, competitor, and customer insights to drive product strategy and tactics, including tracking product performance, especially in relation to competitors.
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to align production capacity with current and future strategic needs.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop global campaigns to build on the Sexcel brand strength and increase market penetration through lead generation.
  • Develop and deliver commercial training on Sexcel capabilities and selling stories.
  • Be accountable for the Global Sexcel and Sexing P&L.
Requirements:
  • Excellent English speaking skills required
  • Ability to travel internationally as per the needs of the business (occasional international travel)
  • Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Animal Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in product management, preferably within the dairy or broader food industry.
  • Proven track record of managing a product line with demonstrated success in product development, marketing, and sales.
  • Knowledge of the dairy industry, including market dynamics, customer preferences, and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and pricing strategies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams.
  • Proficiency in product management and CRM software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability inform and influence stakeholders at every level.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and basic use of MS Project.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on driving revenue growth.
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to take calculated risks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
