The CIS Regional Leader of Wabtec plays a vital role in representing and advocating for Wabtec to business and government stakeholders. Their main responsibilities include driving a One Wabtec approach in leading and achieving commercial strategies, business development, regional operations, and talent development aligned with the global P&Ls and functions. Experience in the CIS Region is required for this role. The Regional Leader must also spend at least 50% of the year in Kazakhstan.

To achieve this, the Regional Leader is leading and partnering across a matrixed organization as well as with cross-functional teams and P&Ls. The goal is to support Wabtec's culture through strong and inspiring leadership in the CIS region.

Execution

  • Ensure execution of business metrics: Sales/Revenue, Cash, EBIT, and Orders
  • Ensure and implement a growth plan, including CAPEX. Define and approve key projects to support growth in the region
  • Execute and expand localization efforts across various business segments
  • Ensure successful execution of commercial plans that align with the overall business strategy
  • Monitor processes, analyze data, and suggest business strategies to reduce the cost of programs
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, drive cost out, and overall business performance

Growth & Regional Strategy

  • Set a regional strategy that is aligned with the global business leaders driving sustainable and profitable growth
  • Develop a pricing strategy, monitor the competitive landscape, and identify growth opportunities through partnerships and alliances
  • Establish and manage a global cross-functional team to develop the regional strategic plan, increase revenue, and expand market share
  • Establish and align internal and external communications strategy, including regional marketing, public relations, exhibitions, and trade shows
  • Commercial Relationship/ customer advocate
  • Create alliances with key stakeholders to unlock growth opportunities
  • Elevate regional customer voices, accelerate idea generation, and speed up Wabtec decision making
  • Lead special projects and events to improve commercialization processes

Government Affairs

  • Identify stakeholders, build productive relationships, and lead government engagement to drive growth and increase regional opportunities

M&A

  • Identify and execute opportunities for acquisition, growth, and synergies

  • Establish and maintain compliance policies and health and safety standards and promote diversity and inclusion through employee resource group initiatives
  • Develop and implement a regional talent plan, support cross-pollination, and create diversity, equity, and inclusion plans

  • Extensive experience in an international or multicultural environment, particularly in CIS, with a deep understanding of cultural nuances, regional business practices, and the ability to navigate diverse markets
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, with a proven track record of achieving revenue and profitability targets in competitive business environments
  • Expertise in a B2B equipment industry, business to government, specifically within the CIS region and/or the rail industry (freight or passenger operations), with a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends in the region
  • Proven ability to develop and execute profitable business strategies, implementing a clear vision for organizational growth
  • Skilled in identifying and evaluating market opportunities, expanding into new markets, and successfully executing business expansion initiatives
  • Extensive experience in managing strategic partnerships, negotiating contracts, and cultivating long-term relationships with customers and other stakeholders
  • Proficient in acquiring and integrating companies, including operations, financials, and support functions
  • Collaborative approach in working with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, finance, and HR, to ensure alignment and execution of business objectives
