Job Overview Summary  

The Senior Manager, Proposals will be responsible for supporting requests across Advarra’s business lines for Requests for Information & Proposals (RFX), strategic partnership agreements, and transactional proposals. The right candidate will coordinate proposal-related functions including RFX distribution, proposal development and production, presentation support and post submittal follow-up for new and existing business. This role will be responsible for evaluating current state (people/process/systems) for efficiencies, driving process improvement and standardization, and training key stakeholders on process changes.  This role will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of standard templates for proposals. The ideal candidate will have experience working either in proposal or marketing functions, with an ability to manage several projects and competing deadlines.  The successful candidate will be someone who has a strong sense of accountability, strong written and verbal communication, and project management skills.  

Job Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Lead a team of Proposal Managers providing guidance, coaching, and support to enhance their effectiveness and career growth 
  • Own client proposal development in collaboration with Commercial Sales Account Executives 
  • Coordinates cross-functionally within Commercial Sales and with various Advarra SMEs in the development of the proposal and other requested documents 
  • Works to understand business goals and challenges in order to ensure Proposals function and initiatives align with overall objectives 
  • Utilizes data and feedback to identify opportunities for process improvement and leads subsequent change management  
  • Ensures proposal compliance with requirements specified in the RFP 
  • Customizes, proofreads, edits, and ensures accuracy of the final proposal document 
  • Completes all required forms and obtains all necessary signatures 
  • Manages the coordination and timeline for completion of the RFP 
  • Maintains their projects in SharePoint including Proposal, attachments, communications, etc. 
  • Maintains and updates proposal boilerplate, current corporate information, location profiles, resumes, bios, customer references and templates as needed

  • This role is open to candidates working remotely in the United States.  

Basic Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree  
  • 10+ years of experience in proposals, contracting or similar field 
  • Understanding of the business and team processes  
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess advanced written and oral skills 
  • Demonstrated success in managing people; setting and communicating goals and expectations, measuring accomplishments, holding staff members accountable, delegating responsibility, keeping staff members informed, coaching, mentoring, reinforcing positive behavior and managing conflict  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external clients with a high degree of professionalism and excellent interpersonal/communication skills. 
  • Ability to influence, engage, and partner closely with individuals at all levels of the organization  
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities and projects, balancing accomplishment of daily operational activities with strategic projects 
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills 
  • Able to work in team environment 
  • Salesforce software experience preferred 
  • Experience in Loopio or similar RFP systems is a plus. 
  • Physical and Mental Requirements 
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.  
  • Learn and comprehend basic instructions 
  • Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities 
  • Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking

The base salary range for this role is $104,200 - $177,300. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
