Job description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage a focused team of product managers in the clinical chemistry market space, driving standard work, collaboration and advancements in diagnostics.

  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the BEC Chemistry portfolio, aligning with the overall business objectives, defining the short and long-term product vision and strategy based on market research, quantified customer value and insights on customer and business impact.

  • Drive upstream marketing support to perform product and life cycle management including, design, development, production, growth and maintenance while meeting annual sales and profit objectives for assigned products.

  • Accountable and responsible for Business Case, User Needs, Customer Product Requirements, and preparation of internal and customer-facing Technical Documentation for self and team and responsible member of New Product Development Core Teams, representing the voice of the customer, sales, and marketing.  

  • Partner closely with the Commercial Product Marketing Management and Regional Commercial leader(s) to coordinate on-going Commercialization Plan development and execution, identify market trends and needs for products, ensuring that product designs are matched to customer demand while delivering profitable market share.

  • Build and maintain technical/clinical utility expertise as we as we seek to become a leader in disease-state diagnostics, adding to the AU reagent menu portfolio.

  • Host advisory boards, review literature and perform competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new markers, cost savings, market efficiencies and organizational productivity to relentlessly reimagine healthcare and drive competitive advantage of the AU portfolio.     

 

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Science with 14+ years’ experience in laboratory diagnostics, life sciences, or related field, OR Master’s degree with 12+ years’ experience OR Doctoral degree with 9+ years’ experience.

  • 3+ years Product Management and/or upstream product marketing experience with strong technical aptitude.  Knowledge of the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry, competitive environment, and laboratory workflow processes preferred.

  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, sales, SCM/operations, alliance management, regulatory, clinical, and quality to bring new products to market.

      

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong business acumen. MBA in marketing or equivalent experience helpful but not required.

  • Working cross culturally and possessing an understanding of the dynamics of different global markets and regulatory environments.

  • Setting and meeting aggressive objectives with prioritization skills and ability to recognize/escalate issues appropriately.

  • Developing strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including proven influencing skills

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Estimated travel up to 25% of the time, overnight travel likely, including international

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $165K-$195K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
