The Financial Reporting Professional 2 prepares and distributes periodic financial statements for users other than those directly employed by the organization. The Financial Reporting Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Financial Reporting Professional 2 ensures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards and organization policies. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

  • As part of Humana’s Medicaid expansion, the Financial Reporting Professional 2 will have a direct impact to support the external reporting functions for this product for various states.    Work assignments are of moderately to difficult complexity, including data consolidation, preparation, reconciliation, and submission of reporting.  In addition, this role will assist with data analysis supporting internal and external needs to various data partners, utilizing SQL, Python, or other data retrieval and processing tools as required. 

  • This role is a great opportunity to learn about a complex product, while working closely with a supportive team.  We are looking for an energetic, curious, and positive individual who can collaborate with team members and the internal departments at Humana that we support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance

  • Less than 5 years of financial accounting/reporting experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Experience with financial reporting and/or data analysis

  • SQL Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous health insurance industry experience working in Finance/Accounting

  • Previous experience in working with large data sets, querying, or consolidation of results for reporting; querying tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

Remote KY or IN; this position is essentially a Hybrid Home position, requiring two days in the office each week in Louisville, KY.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$63,400 - $87,400 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
