POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Head of Clinical Operations to join our leadership team at Fort Health. You will work directly with the CEO, Head of Operations, Head of Psychiatry, Head of Therapy, and Head of Collaborative Care to build, improve and scale the end-to-end clinical care operations functions for the company. You will lead programs and administrative processes that support care service delivery, efficiency, and process improvement. This role is an “agility player” role and you will tackle ambiguity, perform analysis, create actionable recommendations and work cross-functionally with teams across the company to execute on initiatives. You will lead a team of care navigators and work closely with the clinical team to scale our infrastructure, as well as the product and growth teams to build out capabilities for effective operational processes at scale. This is a key leadership role that will be given a lot of autonomy and responsibility and we are looking for someone who is excited to roll up their sleeves and lead by example.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance clinical service delivery, aligned with the organization's mission and growth objectives.
- Provide leadership and vision to clinical teams, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior management team to align clinical operations with business goals.
Clinical Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of all clinical programs, ensuring efficient service delivery and optimal resource allocation including demand and supply calculations.
- Define, monitor and improve performance metrics (e.g., satisfaction, efficiency, sessions delivered etc) and determine whether they are on target.
- Own the operationalization of the clinical workflows defined by the Clinical Director.
- Define the catalog of processes and collaborate with the Clinical Director to define the Standard Operating Procedures and operationalize them.
- Collaborate with finance, HR, and other departments to optimize workflows, staff productivity, and financial performance.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Participate in quality committee meetings
- Ensure all clinical operations comply with relevant regulations, licensing, and accreditation standards.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop clinical staff, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and accountability.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and recruit, retain, and onboard clinical talent to meet service demand.
Client-Centered Care:
- Advocate for customer centricity and collaborate with product, account management and other clinical leads to define and deliver against a seamless end-to-end patient journey.
Engage with youth and their families to gather VoC (voice of customer) feedback and continually improve service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education:
Optional: Clinical Background
- Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatry, Nursing, or a related clinical field.
- Licensure in a relevant clinical discipline preferred (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, PhD, PsyD, RN).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical operations experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role in mental health services, preferably youth-focused.
- Understands evidence-based practices in youth mental health care and familiarity with various therapeutic modalities.
- Experience overseeing multi-site operations, working with a diverse clinical team, and managing complex service delivery models.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
- Expertise in clinical operations management, budgeting, and performance improvement.
- Proficient in regulatory requirements and clinical quality standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, stakeholders, and clients.
REPORTING
This role reports directly to the CEO who will also assign projects, provide general direction and guidance. Incumbent is expected to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
