The Role

We are seeking a passionate UX Researcher (Mixed Methods) to join our expanding design team. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will play a vital role in helping Plum create intuitive, user-centred financial products. By utilising both qualitative and quantitative research methods, you will gather insights that inform our product design and ensure our solutions align with user needs and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify Key Challenges: The ability to inspire creative thinking by collaborating with designers and stakeholders to uncover unmet user needs and pain points
  • Frame Research Questions: The ability to define key research questions that guide and motivate you and your team to pursue meaningful insights
  • Explore User Problems: The ability to formulate hypotheses and use both qualitative and quantitative methods to gather, analyse, and synthesise data from diverse perspectives
  • Make Insights Tangible: The ability to “prototype to learn”, creating and using research artefacts such as journey maps, personas, or mock data to test and validate hypotheses
  • Iterate and Learn: The ability to gather, interpret, and apply feedback from research activities to continuously refine understanding and insights
  • Craft Insightful Narratives: The ability to create compelling stories that clearly explain research findings and support effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in UX research with a strong portfolio of case studies showcasing your work
  • Experience with design methods and the ability to collaborate with designers to translate insights into actionable designs
  • A solid understanding of the end-to-end research work, including but not limited to, qualitative methods such as interviews, usability testing, and diary studies and quantitative methods such as surveys, A/B testing, and statistical analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear and actionable insights
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in financial services or fintech is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, or a related field is preferred
