Position Overview
The Station Finance Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager of Station Finance and will assist in duties and projects related to the billing, expense reporting, budget development, among other duties, required to support the MSB services to our partner stations. This role not only requires a keen eye for detail and a ferocious devotion to accuracy in reporting, but also an ability and ease in being the knowledgeable party in client and vendor interactions – with the judgment to ask clarifying questions and the ability share critical knowledge to identify and resolve outstanding issues.
This position involves meeting with internal and external stakeholders and will require a level of comfort and confidence with public speaking, as well as the ability to tailor their presentation style and content to the intended audience.
Priorities include, but are not limited to:
Out-of-Pocket Billing:
- Collating data from multiple platforms and teams to record all CDP Membership monthly billing in the database of record, Tableau.
- Tracking various communication channels for updates and corrections.
- Providing multiple data quality checks across various applications for accuracy to the invoices, as well as prior trends.
- Detailed notes of all anomalies for later analysis, review, & updates.
- Communicating and collaborating with the Internal Finance team.
- Knowledge and application of business rules to ensure only appropriate expenses are reported.
- Leveraging Excel data manipulation tools to generate data files for the upload of records into Salesforce.
- Use of Salesforce, reporting & data entry functionality, as part of the data synchronization conduit to Tableau.
Station Expense tracking and Monthly Reporting:
- Collecting data from individual teams and stations to complete station Budget v. Actuals reports:
- Retrieve station expenses from station Teams folders.
- Verify station expense data against budget & historical expectations.
- Communicating with Client Services Representative & Station to resolve any expense accuracy concerns.
- Uploading station expenses via Excel to Salesforce which will then synch to Tableau.
- Export reports and sharing with Client Services team.
- Track all steps accordingly.
- Assist with validating and preparing MSB monthly reports for station delivery.
Budgeting and Reforecasting:
- Analyze historical data.
- Prepare templates in Excel/budgeting tool.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Digital teams to assess projections for revenue areas.
- Prepare budget/reforecast drafts for station delivery.
- Participate and lead follow-up budget review meetings.
Operational Efficiency:
- Continually identify, propose, evaluate, and implement process improvements discovered via the Station Finance activity as related to operational workflows, budget development, data hygiene, and client communication, etc.
Other duties as required, including but not limited to:
- Triaging Salesforce cases.
- Triaging station emails and collaborating closely with Client Services, Digital Marketing, Direct Mail Marketing to resolve queries.
Experience/Skills
- Budgeting Experience required; 2-3 years of Financial Planning and Analysis, Statistics, or related field, strongly preferred
- Experience working with customers/clients; critically important to have experience and be at ease in holding client discussions
- Salesforce or other CRM platform familiarity (cases and reporting)
- Strong Excel skills, with a proficiency in basic formulas (variances, percentages, etc.)
- Exacting attention to detail
- Of critical importance: The successful hire will be collaborative, have a sense of humor, have demonstrable multitasking skills, and will be able to prioritize competing deadlines.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an accounting-related field and/or equivalent work experience preferred
