About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager - EMEA, the EMEA Payroll Specialist will be part of the EMEA payroll team supporting all operational payrolls for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Region. The scope for RELX EMEA Payroll includes all 5 divisions of RELX (Corporate, Scientific Technical and Medical, Legal, Risk and Exhibitions), as well as any acquired companies going forward. They will support the accurate and timely processing of the payrolls for all EMEA countries in which we have employees, in compliance with the applicable regulatory environment. They will also assist with the EMEA aspects of global transformation efforts to consolidate payroll vendors, processes, and responsibilities to create a centralised payroll function in alignment with RELX’s strategic goals.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide the accurate and timely review and submission of EMEA payroll data to meet payroll processing deadlines.
Adherence to all EMEA payroll processes and controls to ensure fully compliant payroll operations across the region.
Ensure timely completion of EMEA payroll payments (including relevant deductions for employment taxes, other statutory deductions, benefits and other items) and funding.
Produce monthly payroll related reconciliations and support GL delivery to all Finance partners.
Assist the Head of Payroll - EMEA in implementing the global payroll strategy for the region, including but not limited to data migration reconciliations, parallel payroll runs and integration testing.
Provide a best in class employee experience for delivery of payroll.
Own the resolution of payroll related myHR cases.
Build strong stakeholder relationships across RELX, notably Tax, Finance and Human Resources.
Work closely with the payroll vendor to ensure delivery of all target SLA’s and payroll deadlines.
Coordinate the required administrative steps for EMEA payroll invoices and ensure timely approval and submission to Finance for payment.
Qualifications/Requirements
Experience and knowledge with 3 or more EMEA countries is required.
Demonstrable experience of supporting EMEA payroll transformation projects highly beneficial.
Previous use of Workday and associated payroll integrations desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or related experience or discipline.
Deep experience of EMEA payroll operations and compliance requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of building personal networks.
