Job description

Fixed-term, full-time

*Offered on a 12-month contract basis initially, with the possibility of extension up to 2 years total, subject to local terms. It is our aim that this role will move to a permanent contract in the future, subject to an internal approval process.


Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located. See the locations here. [Unfortunately, we are currently unable to host new staff in a number of NROs at this present time, due to various restrictions. We are unable to support hosting of new staff in Africa, India, US, UK, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Colombia, MENA region, in addition to some other NRO locations. Greenpeace International (GPI) is looking for a Procurement Manager to advise stakeholders on procurement processes and oversee the lifecycle of assets within GPI. This role involves strategic coordination, collaboration with internal teams, vendor assessment, contract negotiation, policy development, and ensuring compliance with procurement and asset management policies. The Procurement Manager ensures robust asset tracking, maintenance, and disposal processes, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. This role also focuses on sustainability and ethical sourcing, aligning procurement practices with Greenpeace's mission and values.


In this role you will:

  • Develop and update procurement and asset management policies and procedures.

  • Conduct market research and evaluate potential vendors.

  • Manage and improve the procurement to pay process.

  • Advise on procurement documentation and vendor performance management.

  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance to ensure contract compliance.

  • Maintain an up-to-date vendor database.

  • Promote sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.

  • Oversee asset tagging, inventory, and lifecycle management.

  • Coordinate asset needs assessments and plan replacements/upgrades.

  • Oversee the disposal of assets at the end of their lifecycle.

  • Generate reports and analyses on procurement and asset management.

  • Provide insights to optimise procurement strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement and asset management standards.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist in audits.

  • Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments.
