Help power the future of clean energy with the Louisiana Energy Gateway (LEG) project!

As an Operator on this groundbreaking project, you'll play a vital role in gathering and transporting responsibly sourced natural gas. LEG connects the Haynesville basin to key markets across the Gulf Coast, including LNG export terminals, supporting our wellhead-to-water strategy and delivering low-carbon energy to customers. You'll work at a technologically advanced facility, operating and monitoring sophisticated equipment alongside a team of expert operators and technicians. At Williams, safety is our top priority. The Operations Technician will demonstrate technical expertise and analyze data to find solutions for technical or operational problems. This role will ensure our facility equipment is maintained and pipeline operations are successful. Troubleshooting, problem solving skills and accurate record-keeping are a must, while maintaining safety as a top priority!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Performs a variety of tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations, including technical standards and governmental requirements

  • Carries out moderate to highly sophisticated technical assignments as prescribed by leader, analyzing data to resolve issues

  • Reads and interprets drawings; drafts operations and maintenance procedures

  • Follows all of our policies and applies appropriate procedures

  • Coordinates protection of community, personnel, environment and assets

  • Oversees general knowledge of site/location/equipment specific permits and compliance

  • Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

Operations Technician II

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum two (2) years’ related experience and minimum of one (1) year experience as a technician in the oil and gas industry

  • Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree

Operations Technician III

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum three (3) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar role

  • Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and minimum two (2) years of multifaceted operations technician experience in the oil and gas industry

Operations Technician Sr

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED; a minimum six (6) years of demonstrated ability as an Operations Technician for similar equipment or facility

  • Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree; a minimum six (6) years of multifaceted operations technician experience within a natural gas processing or compression facility

Physical and Environment Work Requirements:

Must be willing to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces

  • Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed

  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time

  • Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)

  • Use hand tools

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
  • Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises

  • May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays

Other Requirements:
  • Must live or be willing to relocate at your own expense within 30 minutes or 30 miles from Omaha compressor station (Marshall, TX) within one hundred twenty (120) days of start date

  • Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record

  • Demonstrates aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills and proficient/advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
