Job description

Overview:

The Dry Type Transformers Director, Sales will drive our sales strategies and activities for the dry type transformer product line, primarily focused on power distribution units (PDUs) for datacenters. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the PDU transformer
market, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales. This role involves developing and executing sales plans, managing customer relationships, and leading a sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for dry type transformers to achieve sales targets.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to drive sales growth and operational excellence.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including distributors, contractors, and end-users, to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to ensure product offerings meet market demands and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with planning and distribution/logistics teams to ensure production schedules are aligned with customer demand volumes and timelines.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, ensuring profitability and compliance with company policies.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to the sales team, ensuring they are equipped to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, preparing reports for senior management and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote products and network with potential customers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the sales team.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises employees within the department(s).
  • Indirectly supervises employees within the department(s).
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of instruction in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or professional sales certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience with 5 or more years in sales within the electrical or distribution transformer industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Extensive experience in customer relationship management and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with dry type transformers and the distribution transformer market.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven and customer-focused.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales performance tools.
  • Familiar with ERP and other enterprise planning tools.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for sales excellence.
  • Collaborative team player and experienced in working in matrix organizations.
