Description
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for coordinating the daily/monthly schedules of anesthesia providers to ensure adequate anesthesia department coverage at the United Digestive affiliated endoscopy centers.
 
REPORTS TO: Anesthesia Scheduling Manager
 
RESPONSIBILIITES
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure anesthesia providers are appropriately staffed to provide anesthesia coverage
  • Manage & maintain monthly anesthesia schedules
  • Establish relationship & work collaboratively with providers to obtain availability and scheduling preferences
  • Monitor case volume & room utilization; staff according to the approved anesthesia staffing model
  • Manage call outs and secure emergency coverage as needed
  • Communicate staffing changes/updates to endo nurse managers as needed
  • Seeks creative solutions to scheduling problems, both independently and collaboratively
  • Maintain and update the anesthesia scheduling software 
  • Manage payroll timecard approval process 
  • Monitor and track bonus pay related to anesthesia staffing
  • Collaborate with payroll department to ensure payroll is processed accurately
  • Provide daily scheduling updates to the anesthesia leadership team
  • Coordinate HR onboarding and onsite training for new providers
  • Any other duties and/or special projects as assigned
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required.  Preferred 2-3 years of healthcare experience and/or scheduling & staffing. Staff member must be computer literate and able to operate healthcare system and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Scheduler must be able to:
  • Possesses the ability to deal with providers with courtesy and respect
  • Displays a professional outgoing warm and helpful attitude
  • Work under pressure; assess, respond, and communicate issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to prioritize scheduling needs
 
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
