Location: Westlake, OH (Remote)

We are seeking an industrial automation product-savvy and customer-focused Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This role offers great autonomy and a choice of base pay or a commission-only salary structure. What You’ll Be Doing
The Outside Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for identifying complete and appropriate automation solutions to meet our client needs. Showcase your consultative and sales skills as you gain technical knowledge of our products and services. You’ll work collaboratively with our Application Engineers, Customer Service Representatives, and Inventory Manager to coordinate your sales efforts. You can take pride each day in knowing that the recommendations you make and the relationships you build have a direct impact on client success.   

Frequent travel to client sites in Northeast Ohio is required. Your sales territory will be Greater Cleveland to Conneaut to Youngstown and West across I-76 to just before Akron, OH. Occasional meeting attendance is to take place at our corporate office in Westlake, OH.

Your primary responsibilities include:
  • Proactively seek out potential customers through cold calling.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Present, promote and sell all products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Become knowledgeable about our products and services to provide value-added solutions.
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within a required schedule.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
  • Analyze the territory’s potential, and track sales and status reports.
  • Collaborate with vendor sales representatives via joint sales calls and obtain updated vendor-requested target account lists and reports.

What Do I Need to Qualify?
Outside Sales Representatives need to be results-driven and proactively seek out and engage customer prospects. Industrial automation technical product knowledge is a plus but not required. We provide training and seek a motivated candidate who is dedicated to continuous learning. Additionally, we seek:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Degree in sales, marketing, communications, or mechanical engineering-related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Valid and in good standing state driver’s license is required.
  • 4 or more years of outside sales experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated consultative selling ability.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic MS Office proficiency is required.
  • CRM and ERP system experience is a plus but not required. We train.
