Cyber Defense Design Architect, Senior
The Opportunity:
Everyone knows security needs to be “baked in” to a system architecture, and you know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface. What if you could use your cyber architecture skills to design and develop secure systems for the military? We’re looking for a cybersecurity engineer who can help create solutions for the Department of Defense that will withstand even the most advanced cyber threats.
As a design security engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll develop and build cybersecurity solutions. You’ll work with systems engineers to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your client’s needs and goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. We need to come up with the best solutions, so you’ll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. As a team, we’ll take a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and mission needs.
This is a chance to learn from a team of experts as you make a difference in the security of command and control systems. Your contributions will help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by integrating secure practices like DevSecOps and zero trust architecture. You’ll be able to gain experience in data science, digital engineering, and AI while building peace of mind in a critical infrastructure.
Work with us as we improve battle management systems through cyber security.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
4+ years of experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) execution, including the RMF Steps Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), Security Plan and artifact generation, workflows, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 security controls, cybersecurity risk assessment, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) development actions
Experience leading, developing, designing, and implementing enterprise architecture (EA) on large-scale projects, working on complex cybersecurity projects, and identifying new cybersecurity capability alignment across integrated systems
Experience implementing computer networking concepts and protocols, network security methodologies, cyber defense and information security policies, and intrusion detection methodologies
Experience defining security requirements and recommendations using Standards, including Defense-in-Depth Functional Implementation Architecture (DFIA) and zero trust
Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders, devising and executing client deliverables, working independently, and leading the accomplishments of client tasks from inception to completion
Ability to investigate and resolve issues that span multiple applications or technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple organizations
TS/SCI clearance
HS diploma or GED
DoD 8140 Certification, including CompTIA Security+ Certification
Nice If You Have:
Experience leading meetings and developing presentations and briefings for use by senior leaders
Experience analyzing technical and policy documentation for DoD organizations and implementing DoD directives
Knowledge of DoD enterprise and tactical networks, including command and control and battlespace management systems
Knowledge of systems engineering, information technology, cloud architecture, and virtualization
Ability to learn new technologies and implement updated rigorous security controls
Ability to articulate industry best practice cybersecurity and threat-based cybersecurity frameworks and trends
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or CS
CEH, CISA, or CISSP Certification
