Job description

Key responsibilities:

Quality Management:

  • Testing of the incoming raw materials / packaging materials / finished goods as per the specifications

  • Ensure that materials are tested and qualified as per the standards / SOP.

  • Make batch adjustments to meet the quality parameters in consultation with QC Supervisor.

  • Participate in 6S related activities in the laboratory

  • Ensure plant quality complies with local regulations and ISO requirements

  • Participate in solving quality deviations and support production in resolving issues related to quality

  • Support in implementing corrective & preventive actions for complaints, non-FTR   / Failed / AWD batches.

  • Notify gaps in test methods or specification to Quality Control Supervisor / Quality Manager / Group & Local R&D and Group Quality and act as per their guidelines.

  • All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Manager.

  • Good housekeeping and maintenance of lab equipment

Audit management:

  • Complete identified actions for observations & non-conformities raised in internal quality audits, within the stipulated period

Quality Induction/Training/Meeting:

  • Participate in local or regional quality meetings and daily meetings as required

  • Participate in safety walks and actively involve in reporting & rectification and (or) prevention of unsafe acts and incidences

Key tasks:

  • Testing & approval of raw materials / packing materials & finished goods to ensure right first time quality. – 40%

  • Working closely with other specialists, including, formula support group, R&D chemists responsible for the quality control of raw materials, intermediates and finished products; operators responsible for paint production and plant maintenance. – 10%

  • Support Quality Manager / QC Supervisor in trouble shooting technical issues and customer complaints investigations. – 20%

  • Accurate and timely recording of QC test data – 20%

  • Good housekeeping and maintenance of lab equipment – 10%

Required education, experience and job-related skills:

Diploma in Paint Technology or any equivalent field

  • Fresher or minimum of 1-3 years of relevant working experience in quality control function.

  • Preferably with experience in paint /coatings /chemical manufacturing industries

  • Able to work independently and in a fast pace environment and result oriented

  • Highly motivated with a positive learning attitude

  • Computer literacy

  • Should be able to read, write and communicate in English
