Position Overview

The Director of Solar Engineering will lead the engineering efforts for solar energy projects, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of solar systems. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of solar installations while adhering to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The Director will manage engineering teams, foster innovation, and ensure that all projects align with company goals for sustainability and renewable energy.

 

Requirements

Responsabilities:

  • Direct and manage the Power engineering team, establishing technical standards and best practices for solar project design and implementation.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Oversee the design of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, energy storage solutions, and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all engineering documentation, including layout plans and performance specifications, meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead the permitting process for solar projects, coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and industry guidelines.
  • Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and external partners to ensure seamless integration of engineering plans into project execution.
  • Maintain effective communication with regulatory bodies, utility providers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in solar engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing solar projects.
  • Strong understanding of solar system design principles, energy storage technologies, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects in the renewable energy sector from conception to completion
