Role Overview:
This main function of this position is to support the company’s Global Logistics strategy and implementation. This involves interaction with several teams including International Supply Chain, International Finance, Domestic Transportation and Procurement. This role will play a vital role in the company’s day to day ocean and drayage transactions as well as support ongoing projects surrounding logistics visibility and freight procurement. The Analyst, Global Ocean Freight will be responsible for maintaining a strong understanding of all Hershey Import and Export lanes in order to fully support business needs. This includes supporting new lane setups, working with carriers on rate negotiations and maintaining an internal routing guide. In addition the position will provide analytical support for the company’s RFQ process for both ocean freight and drayage. This position requires a strong knowledge of international transportation and experience working with both internal and external stakeholders in a variety of settings.
Responsibilities:
- Works with INTL Supply Chain teams to facilitate new lane setups for ocean freight and drayage to support shipments to export markets
- Works cross functionally to support logistics analyses for new product and innovation launches
- Aids both Global Ocean Freight Manger and Procurement teams to facilitate historic and analytical results for both annual and ad hoc RFQ processes.
- Super user of logistics visibility platform (Buyco).
- Collaborates with Supply Chain and Hershey Business Process teams to provide recommendations to Logistics Manager on any opportunity areas
- Supports requests from finance for freight cost analyses
- Maintains routing guide with contract amendments and updates to fuel schedules
- Creates, consolidates, and drives continuous improvement internally and externally through score carding on carrier performance
- Works with freight billing team to resolve Detention and Demurrage disputes
- Cross-functionally collaborates with various teams to support company freight savings (CI) goals for both ocean freight and drayage

- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience & Education:
- Understanding of international logistics operations and timing of key ocean transportation milestones
- At least 2-3+ years operational experience in ocean/drayage modes of transport
- Experience in analytical analysis and score carding
- Logistics tracking and analytics software experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (both written & verbal).
- Effective organization and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience in Power BI and/or other analytical tools preferred.
- College degree in Business Administration, International Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related degree preferred
