ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

NPD Canada is seeking an experienced Director of Paid Media to help our growing Paid Media team while serving as a trusted resource for our prospective and existing clients. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience building and leading paid media strategies at a digital marketing agency. You love building integrated media strategies for clients to achieve their business goals, and you know that no “one size fits all” approach will ever get optimal results for your clients. You’ve built hundreds of media plans, and equally important, you have the storytelling ability to bring those plans to life. You earn the trust of CMOs and CEOs by showing them thoughtful insights, compelling strategies, and clever uses of multiple paid channels to drive meaningful impact to their business.   

As the Director of Paid Media Strategy, you will be responsible developing innovative paid media strategies, media plans, budget proposal and media flowcharts for NPD’s advertising clients. You will work closely with other Directors for specific paid media tactics within the department to make sure we are developing innovative, full funnel paid media strategies that help our clients reach their target audience. The Director will oversee the effective spending and follow-through of global media budgets within programmatic display, native, paid social, digital video, paid search, sponsorship, and more.  

This position is based out of Canada. Applicants must reside and be authorized to work in Canada.   

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Reporting to the Managing Director, The Senior Director, Paid Media will be responsible for overseeing paid media strategy with a focus on growing revenue and improving client performance health.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Leads the development of the digital media strategy for select NPD advertising clients; focusing on media tactics throughout the consumer journey; provides guidance for Digital channel strategy 
  • Work with SMEs to develop integrated approaches for our clients & prospects 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to grow and expand business aligned to NP Digital capabilities
  • Conduct market research & strategic briefs to guide the Paid Media department 
  • Create integrated media plans that forecast actual business results for our clients 
  • Identify needs of clients and help translate those needs into deliverables and SOWs 
  • Architect data & measurement strategies to show a clear ROI from our efforts 
  • Provides mentorship, structured assistance, instruction, and inspiration to the team of digital strategists 
  • Plays an active role in pitches for renewals, upsells, and new accounts for clients where a higher-level of subject matter expertise is needed 
  • As needed, plan, manage, and execute integrated Digital Media campaigns, including but not limited to account setup, strategy development, organization, and management 

 ABOUT YOU 

  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing strategy with a focus across Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, and Analytics  
  • A history of developing business-driving integrated Paid Media programs for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 100 and spanning B2B and B2C
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and identify opportunities using data & analytics, market research, and strategic frameworks 
  • Experience managing complex, multi-platform digital marketing strategies across clients  
  • Successful track record of helping to build and present strategic digital approaches, recommendations, and tactics for clients  
  • Ability to translate digital & industry trends into succinct, compelling, conversational language for a variety of C-Suite and Marketing audiences 
  • Deep understanding of agency-style business operations and how to leverage performance tactics to ensure long-term customer success and continued revenue growth 
  • An individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and a passion for growing a new department and service offering within an agency 
  • Strong client and team leadership qualities, comfortable contributing to company’s thought leadership on paid media industry topics

  • Experience adopting and managing campaigns in Campaign Manager / SA360\
  • Experience managing campaigns with Amazon Search
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
