Role purpose

As a Director of Product Management, you will be responsible for building and managing a global team of Product Owners who will have a focus on our Airline Retailing product set. A large focus of the role will initially be ensuring the team is setup for success as a true Product function, transitioning away from a Services Mentality function. Going forward, we want this team to be best in class to ensure we have strong collaboration with clients and key partners, to further build out our product roadmap and lifecycle for continuous growth and development within our ecosystem.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead the Product Owner team. Influence and establish best product management practices from design decisions to processes and tools.
  • Champion Lean product management, cascading best practices to team members, and ensure continuous delivery of value to customers while always taking an economic view.
  • Contribute vision and strategies for the product portfolio, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, contribute to building business cases, and help drive objectives.
  • Execute product roadmaps, align business and technical needs, analyze customer and product data, turn customer insights into actionable initiatives, and manage risks by partnering with techno functional leadership team.
  • Build collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities aligned to business goals, communicating, and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership.
  • Represent Accelya at Industry working groups and initiatives.  
  • Drive product lifecycle from requirement definitions, research, metrics analysis, technical specifications, development, testing, KPIs and other launch efforts.
  • Drive product quality throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring that value delivered meets the highest standards of reliability and customer satisfaction
  • Partner with multifunctional and cross functional team of engineers, data scientists, Functional and Business leads across multiple Products and Services
  • Support technical team to design and architect the best solution for technical needs. Developing scalable systems that will serve millions of customers across all our Products.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Extensive domain knowledge in Airline Retailing and have held a leadership position, including people management.
  • Demonstrate a history of continuous thought leadership and execution, with measurable outcomes.
  • Understand the Airline regulatory and data governance standards.
  • Experience in going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that enable you to simplify complex problems and evangelize a strategy and roadmap to stakeholders.
  • A test and learn mentality and an agile way of working to improve your team’s products and processes.
  • Experienced in developing and enhancing moderately complex products by managing product roadmaps; gathering and documenting requirements; collecting and analyzing customer and product data; turning customer insights into actionable priorities and initiatives; prioritizing product backlog; executing on user and business acceptance criteria; and managing roll out of product features.
  • You craft and develop solutions to business challenges by communicating requirements to key partners; and engaging with key partners to deliver and support initiatives; and communicating status and insights related to product performance to stakeholders.
