Bureau Veritas is seeking the immediate hire of a Part-Time Permit Clerk for their office in Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania.  The person in this role with work under the direction of the Zoning and Permitting Manager. 
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processes incoming permit applications for plan review and inspections.
  • Verifies and accepts application submittals by ensuring all necessary documents are submitted and complete for permit issuance.
  • Follows-up on permits submitted to the City.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers.
  • Provides copies of inspection reports as requested.
  • Answers incoming calls from contractors, City employees, and others requesting inspections to be scheduled.
  • Schedules inspections received by phone and/or email.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public.
  • Works well independently and within a team environment.
  • Other duties may be added as needed.

     

Requirements:

  • Minimum education required: High school graduate (or equivalent); Associate's degree preferred
  • Experience working within an office setting. 2-5 years of experience working with permits OR relevant experience working within legal, government, or construction-related settings preferred.  Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to manage time well and ability to work well with others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to handle all kinds of people.
  • Excellent typing, data entry, and clerical skills.
  • Computer savvy. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to work with different software and databases.
  • This is a part-time role based in our office. We are not able to accommodate work-from-home situations for this opportunity, given the nature of the work.
