Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist holds the primary duty of processing payroll for Costa Rica and supporting the global payroll processing including the Americas, total of six countries. The Payroll Specialist reports directly to the Global Payroll Manager, is part of the Finance department, and will participate in various projects to improve payroll efficiency and compliance as well as larger Finance department projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Oversee payroll processing for Costa Rica.
  • Provide support for the overall global payroll process, including the Americas.
  • Process and manage all aspects of payroll, including time tracking management, verifying deductions, processing new hires and terminations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee questions.
  • Maintain payroll-compliant operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting.
  • Partner with Accounting and HR teams on reconciliations, policy and plan updates, and employee leave management.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Keep up to date with changes in payroll regulations.
  • Participate in various global payroll optimization projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the department/company.

What You’ll Need:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years experience processing payroll.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of DayForce or Cloudpay is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
