Designer
Openings: 4 positions available
Location: Remote, with availability for hybrid work in NYC as needed
Duration: 5 weeks (Closed on Thanksgiving Day, remote the week of Thanksgiving, and last two weeks of December)

Overview:
Client is seeking multiple Designers across different specialty areas within the team. Ideal candidates should have a blend of fashion sketching, tech pack development, and construction experience in either sport, swim, sleep, or intimates. The roles focus on creating commercially viable, brand-aligned product designs through efficient sketching and tech pack production. Flexibility, a collaborative spirit, and attention to detail are essential, as candidates will work both independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities:

Tech Pack Development: Produce highly detailed tech packs, managing and updating linesheets and BOMs within Centric.
Trend Research: Conduct ongoing research on competitors and market trends, proposing resources for design inspiration.
Collaboration: Work closely with Merchandising, Marketing, and Product Development, adapting designs based on feedback.
Junior Designer Support: Provide guidance and feedback to junior designers, promoting team cohesion.

Responsibilities for individual roles:

Sleep
- Develop sleepwear designs with a focus on seasonal, holiday-themed aesthetics.
- Efficiently sketch and upload designs using Adobe systems, ensuring alignment with the brand's vision.
- Contribute to design iterations based on feedback, maintaining high standards in style, fit, and fabric.
- Experience Requirement: 5+ years in design, ideally with strong Adobe Sketch skills.
- Interviews: 1 virtual interview; portfolios required.
Sport and Swimwear
- Design and execute sketches for sport and swimwear, focusing on stronger SPORT construction and tech stacking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on construction details and color selection in AI.
- Emphasize urgency and adaptability in meeting project milestones.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid preferred; remote acceptable.
- Experience Requirement: 2+ years in design, especially in sports and swim construction.
- Interviews: 1 virtual interview; portfolios required.
Intimates – Bra Construction
- Design and detail intimate wear, especially in bra construction, with a focus on technical specifications.
- Create comprehensive tech packs, including line sheets, BOMs, stitch counts, and construction specifics.
- Experience Requirement: 1-2 years in intimates design; proficiency in InDesign and Illustrator.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid preferred, though remote is acceptable.
- Interviews: 1-2 virtual interviews; portfolios required.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Holiday Deliverables (Sleep): 5+ years
- Sport and Swim: 2+ years with strong sport construction skills.
- Intimates: 1-2 years in intimate apparel design.
Skills: Proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Centric is preferred.
Design Abilities: Strong sketching ability in Illustrator with speed and accuracy in color application.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of tech packs and construction details, especially in chosen specialty.
Team Orientation: Excellent communication and presentation skills with a flexible and positive work style.
