Job description

Join a distinguished team as a Remote Call Center Agent, providing vital support to FEMA during their peak operational season. This four-month work-from-home position offers the possibility of extension based on project requirements. In this impactful role, you will assist individuals navigating the federal assistance process, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for individuals seeking federal disaster relief or inquiring about their existing applications.
  • Deliver information, referrals, and support with compassion and patience.
  • Accurately enter data into FEMA’s Windows-based system during calls, adhering to scripted guidelines.
  • Direct callers to additional support services and provide essential contact information for relevant agencies.
  • Attend regular meetings to receive updates and event-specific guidance.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while handling calls, ensuring exceptional communication and customer service.
  • Complete data entry and related tasks while the caller is on the line, ensuring minimal wait time in case of dropped calls.
  • Operate from a secure, private environment with a stable high-speed internet connection (25 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload or higher).

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or a combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a FEMA background check.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and personal computers within a Windows-based environment.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
