IT Concepts seeks an experienced Senior Clinical Informaticist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, the clinical informaticist will support integrated health practice agile development teams responsible for providing professional and technical health informatics (HI) solutions to standardize clinical workflows and processes throughout the Veterans Health Administration. The Clinical Informaticist will collaborate with clinical analysts, program analysts, health systems specialists, information architects, and other experts on the agile team to provide health informatics expertise and develop solutions for the VHA Electronic Health Record.
Location: This position can be performed remotely and will support Eastern Time working hours.
Responsibilities:
- Work within a cross-functional agile team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Health Informatics Specialists, and clinical professionals to assess and analyze clinical workflows across VHA to improve healthcare outcomes and standardize clinical workflows within the VA EHR ecosystem.
- Create lean business cases that include feature descriptions and metrics to demonstrate the value of the team's solutions.
- Responsible for creating documents for EHR training with appropriate terminology, abbreviations, graphics, examples for training presentations, and well-written narratives.
- Analyze Electronic Health Records clinical workflows (e.g., surgical, primary care, dental, specialty care, pharmacy) and clinical data to define new approaches that increase the quality of patient care, provider, and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years of experience working as a clinical informaticist on healthcare-related IT projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in medicine, nursing, bio-informatics, pharmacy, etc., with knowledge of direct patient care.
- Experience validating, interpreting, and analyzing clinical concepts, data, workflows, and trends using standard practices and techniques, such as Value Stream Maps.
- Proficient in creating value stream maps of current clinical workflows.
- Demonstrated understanding of the clinical setting, clinical practice, and clinical informatics to develop solutions for the enterprise.
- Experience validating, interpreting, and analyzing clinical concepts, data, workflows, and trends using standard practices and techniques, such as Value Stream Maps.
- Proficient in creating value stream maps of current clinical workflows.
- Degree in medicine, nursing, bio-informatics, pharmacy, etc., with knowledge of direct patient care.
- Experience defining and utilizing metrics to determine the performance of a solution/product.
- Advanced skills in MS Forms, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, SharePoint, reporting and analytics tools.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Direct experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration stakeholders and healthcare providers.
- Direct experience with electronic health record technologies and implementations (specifically Oracle Health).
Clearance requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or possess a Green Card.
