Job Overview

We invite applications from seasoned professionals for the position of Engineer V or Project Engineering Manager, based on your experience and qualifications. This role presents an exceptional chance for individuals who are passionate about spearheading engineering projects in the wood products manufacturing sector. While candidates should be located in Boise, ID, we are open to remote work arrangements for those who possess substantial relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

As an Engineer V, you will be instrumental in the design, cost estimation, and planning of projects related to wood products manufacturing lines. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough engineering analyses while complying with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to deliver critical designs, calculations, technology assessments, and cost evaluations.
  • Preparing construction specifications, contracts for machinery and construction, and quality assurance measures.
  • Overseeing installation timelines and outage schedules, as well as providing on-site construction and startup support.
  • Leading specific project components within larger, multifaceted initiatives.
  • Working autonomously on technical engineering issues, contributing your expertise to the successful completion of capital projects.

For the Project Engineering Manager role, the additional responsibilities will include:

  • Taking full accountability for large-scale capital projects, from feasibility studies through to final optimization, overseeing endeavors valued at up to $50 million.
  • Managing all facets of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and effective team leadership.
  • Resolving any challenges that arise during startup and post-startup optimization phases, with a proven track record of managing multiple capital projects exceeding $15 million.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D solid modeling software (like SolidWorks or Inventor), and the MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical acumen for analyzing engineering systems including structural, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and fluid dynamics.
  • Capability to interpret engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with construction efforts and applicable codes.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications for Engineer V include:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or a robust portfolio showcasing relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience within the wood products or a related industry.

Additional Qualifications For Project Engineering Manager

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory.
  • At least 7+ years of progressive experience in managing large capital projects within the wood products or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple capital projects exceeding $15 million from inception through startup.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Engineer V: \(84,700 - \)164,500 (dependent on experience).
  • Project Engineering Manager: \(124,500 - \)231,300 (dependent on experience).
