Sourcing and Originations Investment Associate

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid Remote/Office)

Job Overview

Join our esteemed private equity team as a Sourcing and Originations Investment Associate. This pivotal role is designed for a driven and detail-oriented individual eager to contribute to the identification, evaluation, and management of promising investment opportunities. In collaboration with senior leadership, you will play an integral role in fostering the growth and success of our firm and its portfolio companies. This position is based in the heart of downtown Houston and offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sourcing and Originations Investment Associate, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the evaluation of new platform and bolt-on investment opportunities through strategic sourcing efforts.
  • Analyzing confidential information memorandums and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to recommend next steps for early-stage opportunities.
  • Conducting comprehensive due diligence, including financial analysis, market research, competitive analysis, and risk assessments for potential investments.
  • Collaborating with the Portfolio Operations team to ensure alignment of bolt-on acquisitions with long-term strategic goals.
  • Coordinating efforts with brokers, third-party diligence providers, and internal experts on prospective deals.
  • Preparing and reviewing investment memorandums, deal bid letters, and other analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and updating platform strategy memos to ensure acquisition goals align with investment opportunities.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with deal sources and service providers to expand our network of opportunities.

Required Skills

We seek an individual who possesses the following skills and attributes:

  • A strong academic background with a degree in finance, economics, or a related field, demonstrating academic excellence.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity, with a focus on sourcing, originations, or mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
  • Proficient financial modeling and analytical skills, coupled with a solid understanding of accounting, finance, and capital structures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Proven M&A and deal execution experience from a reputable investment bank or private equity firm.
  • The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a high-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in constructing Investment Committee Memorandums and platform thesis pitch decks.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
